A social app that gets you off your phone.

Meet people nearby, find each other in real life, and exchange a quick hello. Discover when you choose to be visible.

In development for iPhone and Android.

From nearby to right here.

Discover people.

See who’s around when they choose to be visible. No venue check-ins or contact lists.

Say a quick hello.

Send a ping. If they say hello back, you can find each other.

Meet in real life.

A live compass shows the direction and distance. Then the phone goes away.

Find each other. For real.

When two people say hello to each other, a live compass helps them find one another. The point is to meet, not to stay on the app.

No venue check-ins. No endless chat. Just the next step.

The first hello is easy.

Tap someone nearby to say hello. Incoming pings rise to the top of your list. Say hello back to start finding each other—no separate inbox to check.

Your presence. Your call.

Turn discovery on when you feel like meeting people. Pause it whenever you want. 4gatherers also excludes mapped residential areas and lets you block or report anyone.

Sharing your location with nearby people is a choice. Residential maps and device location can be imperfect; always use your judgment when meeting someone new.

How we handle privacy
4gatherers account screen on iPhone with profile photo, discovery toggle and privacy controls.
Do I need to check in somewhere?

No. See nearby people who have discovery enabled, whether you’re at a cafe, a park, or just out in the world.

Who can find me?

Only eligible people nearby while you have discovery turned on. Discovery is off by default, and nearby users can see your current location before you both ping.

How do pings work?

Send a ping to someone nearby. If they ping back, you can follow a live direction and distance to meet. Unanswered pings expire after five minutes.

Can I stop someone from seeing me?

Yes. Pause discovery anytime, or block someone so neither of you can discover the other. Mapped residential areas are also excluded, though map coverage can be imperfect.

The world is better in person.
